title: Setting up your profile
description: Your public profile on Insy — display name, @username, bio, avatar, social links, and the showcase that decides which communities and products appear on your page.
---

Your profile is the public face buyers see, and the page your communities and products live on. Get
it right before you share a link. Everything here is editable at any time.

## The basics

<CardGroup cols={2}>
  <Card title="Display name" icon="user-round">

    characters.

    clean slug (lowercase, no spaces) and no two people can share one.
  </Card>
  <Card title="Bio" icon="text">

> **Your @username is your link**
>
> The username is your public page's address, so pick something you're happy to hand out. You can
> change it later, but anyone using the old link will need the new one.

## Contact and social links

Add links so buyers can find and reach you — all optional, and blanks don't appear on your page:

- **Public contact email** — a separate address you're happy to show publicly. It doesn't have to
  be your login email.
- **Instagram**
- **TikTok**
- **Telegram**
- **Discord**
- **Website**

> **Your login email stays private**
>
> The contact email on your profile is a display field you choose to show. It's separate from the
> email your account logs in with, which is never put on your public page.

## The profile showcase

Your public page lists the communities and digital products you sell — but you decide which appear,
and in what order. For each item you can:

- **Show or hide it** — keep a work-in-progress or a private offer off your public page until it's
  ready.
- **Pin it** — pinned items are highlighted at the top so your headline offer leads.

Items only appear in the showcase after you create the community or product they point to. A
brand-new account has nothing to show or pin yet.

## Marketing emails from Insy

Your account has a switch for whether Insy may send you its **own newsletter and promotional
email**.

> **This toggle is about Insy's newsletter only**
>
> Turning off marketing email stops Insy's promotional sends. It does **not** stop email about your
> own account or sales — login links, receipts and payout notices are account mail, not marketing,
> and keep arriving regardless.
